FIDE Rating - January 2013
#1
FIDE have changed the file format of their monthly rating lists. http://ratings.fide.com/download.phtml

This file is used to record latest FIDE ratings in the CS program and also to create the latest Scot FIDE rating page http://chessscotland.com/grading/displayLatestFide.php

So we have a delay to displaying the January 1 ratings until CS systems are adapted to deal with the new format.

Meanwhile Jan 1 FIDE rating data (ie events which took place in December) has not been affected by the change and has been imported into the domestic records of all CS members - these will appear on the next upload scheduled for Jan 9.

A depressing thought for those of us "of a certain age" - Nigel Short, born 1965, is the oldest player in the world top 100.

The monthly FIDE list of Scots is now available again.

There is also a direct grab available from the FIDE site.

FIDE ratings in player records will be updated again in the CS online system from next week.

Thanks to programmer Gordon Rattray who devised a system to convert the new format FIDE downloads to be read by the existing CS system.
