The Tri-nations tournament was held on 16-18 September at Swansea University. The Scottish Junior Squad flew down from Edinburgh on Friday night chaperoned by Donna Officer and Norrie and Maureen Mathie.

The weekend proved to be very successful in that the U/12 team won their section, the U/16 team won their section and the U/14 team came second, one point behind the winners. Scotland were announced as the overall winners!!

Play started on the Saturday morning when we faced Wiltshire. The U/12 team won 6-2, the Under 14 team won 5.5 - 2.5 and the U/16 team drew 3-3.

In the afternoon we played Wales - the U/12 team won 4.5-3.5, the U/14 team lost 3-5 and the U/16 team won 5-1.

On Sunday we faced the Irish and scored very well - the U/12 team won 6.5-1.5, the U/14 team won 6-2 and the U/16 team won 5.5-0.5.

The final scores were:-

U/12 Scotland 11 Wales 10.5 Ireland 2.5 U/14 Wales 10 Scotland 9 Ireland 5

U/16 Scotland 10.5 Ireland 5 Wales 2.5

Norrie and Maurenn were charged with the task of choosing the 'Man of the Match' for each section and their decisions were:-

U/12 - Jonathan Wright

U/14 - Adam Bremner

U/16 - Chris Macdonald Well done to all three of you!!

Everyone who attended had a great time and it was a very happy group which returned to Edinburgh airport early on Sunday evening.
