Richardson Cup 1933-1934
Glasgow Chess Club and Edinburgh Chess Club met in Glasgow on Saturday to replay their drawn tie in the final round of the Richardson Cup tournament, the most important club competition in Scotland.
The result again depends on adjudication. After five hours' play Edinburgh led by 3½ games to 2½, with one unfinished game for which Glasgow claim a win. Should this claim succeed, Glasgow will win because of the rule that, following a second drawn tie, games from board seven upwards must be cancelled until a decision is reached.

Note: The Glasgow Herald chess column for Saturday, 2 June 1934 confirmed that the adjudicated game was given as a win for Glasgow. This tied the match at 3½ each, but with the cancellation of the board seven result, Glasgow thereby won the Richardson Cup for the third year in succession. Alan McGowan
