successive wins of the Richardson Cup, while Bon Accord make their first of 3
appearances in 5 years as losing finalists - their best performance in the
Richardson. Polytechnic finally succumb to relegation. There are various
missing results, details of which would be appreciated.

The final was played on Saturday 6 March, in Perth. At the close of play the match was tied, with the game on board 2 sent for adjudication. This game was later awarded to Glasgow, giving the club their 22nd Richardson win. (Glasgow Herald 1954: Monday 8 March and the Chess column of Friday 2 April.)
