The Finals of the Richardson Cup, Spens Cup and the Jack Campbell Rosebowl team tournaments took place on Saturday, April 17th 2010 at Grangemouth ... reports IM Andrew Muir.

On the morning of the match their top board Polish IM Marcin Tazbir pulled out with illness but Hamilton 's strength in depth was still enough to win. Dragons' boards 5 & 6 were suitably dressed in a kilt for the day but this did not seem to help them.

Adrian Stalker and Joe Redpath won pawns in the opening whilst Steven Tweedie won a closed battle.

Chris Tweedie won after trapping a rook in a Dragon but Tom Donohue lost in another Sicilian. Pat Coffey, in a fluctuating game, agreed a draw to close out the match.

The top two boards were long games. Andy Muir lost & Mark Orr blundered in the final minute of the allegro finish.

For the winners, Andy Muir now has 10 titles for 5 different teams in 5 different decades. Adrian Stalker has now played black in 5 finals scoring 5 wins.

The Campbell Rosebowl was presented by Jack Campbell's son.
