Grandmaster Alexey Suetin had played in the Hastings 1967/68 tournament, along with his compatriot Stein. After the tournament, both GM's visited Glasgow to give simultaneous displays. Stein's visit is covered in a separate report.
From the Scottish Chess Bulletin Nr. 25:
On Monday 15th January, A. S. Suetin (USSR) gave a simultaneous display in the Debating Hall of Glasgow University Union. In three hours, he scored P24, W15, D6, L3 to P. M. George, D. B. A. Hunter and P. M. Jamieson.
Thanks are due to John Glendinning for supplying the above report (he notes that no games were featured). Thanks also to Bryan Hunter for his comments about the display. Despite being one of those who defeated the Grandmaster, Bryan has not retained the score of his game.
Ken Stewart has kindly supplied his game.
