Raymond W.M. Baxter

• Associated with Edinburgh Chess Club
• Member of winning Edinburgh CC team in Richardson Cup 1958 and 1959.
• played for Scotland in the Tel-Aviv Olympiad of 1964
• played in the Scottish Championships of 1960 (2nd, a half point behind Aitken), and 1965. In the latter, Baxter finished in a three-way tie with Dr Aitken and Peter Jamieson in the Scottish Championship of 1965, all scoring 5½/7. A double-round play-off was arranged later in the year, when Baxter scored 1 point, with Aitken and Jamieson scoring 2 each, resulting in the title being shared.
