Glasgow Herald chess column of January 30,1937
The death took place last week of John Macdonald [sic], Glasgow, for many years one of the leading players in Queen's Park CC. Indifferent health kept Mr Macdonald out of competitive play for the past few years, and although he entered this year's "West" he had to give up after a few rounds.
Mr McDonald died at 952 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow.
