Alfred John Pattenhausen (later Patterson)
1876 Cadder, Lanarkshire - 1949 Edinburgh
Member and sometime secretary of the Bohemian
Chess Club (Glasgow).
In 1905 he married Mary Charters Currie.
By 1911 he had left Glasgow for the Edinburgh
area, representing Portobello CC in a match against Edinburgh Ladies'
CC in December of that year.
His name is associated with managing cinemas in
various parts of Scotland, including Edinburgh, Leith, Motherwell and
Stranraer.
In 1915 Mr Pattenhausen changed his name to
Patterson.
