Susan Mary Thomson (m.s. Hamilton)

Scottish Ladies' Champion 1965, scoring 6½ points from seven rounds. She finished in front of former champions Mrs Nancy Elder, Mrs S.M. Steedman and Miss L.M. Hogarth.

The Scottish Chess Bullletin No. 17 stated that Mrs Thomson married former Scottish Champion Aird Thomson [A.A. Thomson] in 1961, and that she had only been playing chess for about three years. 'She is a keen administrator, and is Secretary of the Athenaeum Chess Club, for whom she plays in the London League. She combines the running of a home with her job as Associate Editor of the Law Society's Gazette.'
