The European Individual Chess Championship for 2018 will take place in Batumi, Georgia, from 16th-29th March, in the 5 stars Hotel “Sheraton Batumi”, which will be the official venue of the Championship.
The Championship is open to all players representing the Chess Federations which are the ECU members, regardless of their title or rating, and without a limit of participants per federation.
Anyone interested in playing this should note that entries must go through CS, with a deadline for registration of February 1st 2018. Please contact me by January 15th if you are interested.
The official website can be found here...
http://www.e2e4.ge/
...and please note the 'visa application' details which may affect some non-EU nationals.
Kind regards,
Andy Burnett
(CS International Director)

SNCL is on this Sunday.
Just like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and sympathy after I lost my Mam last month. The two cards were lovely and in particular ' Best Wishes for the afterlife' really made me chuckle.
I believe a couple of teams have still to pay me -- please sort it out on Sunday, don't make me Name and Shame at 3pm.
Look forward to seeing you all

I am reposting here as Glynis has been getting mails asking when the details will be posted in the forum. If you would like to add anything, there is a thread in the Obituary section
Nan (Glynis' mother) passed away yesterday morning (Saturday). Nan was a very active part of SNCL and Glynis has asked me to pass on the following.
Funeral is on Monday 6th November at 11:30am at the Dunfermline Crematorium (Masterton Road, KY11 8QR) followed by Soup and Sandwiches at Pitbauchlie Hotel (Aberdour Road, KY11 4PB). All are welcome. As a request from the Crematorium, please do not send flowers. If desired, there will be a donation box for Alzheimers Scotland.
