One thing that will always be constant is that I keep in touch with families of juniors I knew well during my time as acting IJD. This includes Mahir, Paul, Emma, Mark and Lisa whose children are in the Glorney team.  I also keep in touch with others who are not in the team but were invited.

Robin,

I was given 5 names for the team who were invited.  All 5 accepted.  There was no one who as on the Glorney team that declined.  Don't believe me, check with Ian who was copied in all the mails.  Now it could be that you are mixing up training days and Glorney teams in which case you are correct.

Matthew, the intention was to announce all the teams for all the federations simultaneously.  We are waiting for 1 response from the other Scottish teams (Stokes team if I remember correctly), we also have a FIN to get for one of the players from another federation

Andy,

It is the Robinson team we are waiting for, the Gilbert and Stokes teams are now complete. (just keeping you on your toes)

Matthew,

We have acceptances from all other (5) participating nations and are now finalising the logistical arrangements for the event. Training days are arranged for Glorney/Gilbert on 24th June and Robinson/Stokes on 16th June and we would like to thank all the trainers for putting so much time and effort into supporting the Scottish teams.

Would it be correct to say that players were asked if they wished to be considered for selection and not all accepted?

Hi Robin,

I do not believe that was the case.

Andy,

I can assure you it was the case but feel free to take your time to double check that before responding.

With my LJC hat on - representing our juniors - while I wasn't involved in picking teams, I've had some oversight into preparations and selections - inc. seeing the original squad lists, and them being refined to picks. So, what Andy is saying is correct - the picks were made and they all accepted.

Having just checked with the selectors I now know that that was not the case.

Hi Robin
As the person in charge of this, I am very surprised as you seem to have much better information than myself and I chaired all the meetings and have a copy of all relevant emails. Andy of course is correct in what he says and i too have the evidence to back him up. ALL Glorney committee officials are aware as to general progress although some in their specialist jobs will obviously know more about their particular tasks than other. There will be more news released in the coming days and if any parents wish to address any queries please direct them to me personally and i will avail any relevant data as deemed appropriate.

There is no mystery here. A couple of parents have already spoken to me and i have answered their questions

Martin,

I have no idea who are in any of the other teams, only the Glorney.

Ian,

Have you had an opportunity to look into my concern I raised in my email on 7th June?

Yes I have Robin. There is no need for concern, the Glorney committee enjoy the utmost confidence in the selectors
