Problems accesssing e-mag - Robert Lothian - 17-09-2024 Anyone else unable to download the e-mag? I'm logged in and clicking on the link, but I keep getting kicked back to my dashboard. Or maybe I'm just an old guy who can't work computers... I had noticed the same issue when the new edition was announced but never got round to reporting it. Just checked again and yes I get directed to my dashboard. RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - Alex McFarlane - 17-09-2024 If it is any consolation (and I know it won't be) I had the same problem. RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - Stuart McKinney - 19-09-2024 If we're talking about the August 2024 issue I accessed this by clicking on download Pdf file. RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - Ianbrownlee - 19-09-2024 I dont have any issue check to see whether 1. it has in fact downloaded 2. check your default PDF program its usually set as default to the edge, i would download adobe reader and use that . PM or email me and I can assist RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - William Hulme - 19-09-2024 Try the download page directly. I have just downloaded it. https://www.chessscotland.com/membership/e-magazine/ RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - Robert Lothian - 19-09-2024 It's working now. Previously, it was simply denying me access to the download page by redirecting me to my dashboard every time I clicked on the link. I believe the appropriate phrase is: 'Computers - for goodness sake.' I go to the Chess Scotland E-MAG page (https://www.chessscotland.com/news/chess-scotland-e-mag/) from the home page. It has link https://www.chessscotland.com/membership/e-magazine/ just above image of August 2024 magazine. Clicking on that link or pasting directly in new window takes me to my dashboard page. Tried this on two browsers Brave and Google Chrome. (I was logged in to Chess Scotland on both) Scrolling down the images/thumbnails for Feb 2024 and Dec 2021 are both active links to PDF. These sample pdfs work fine. (not surprising as presumably you don't need to log in!) I had a wild guess that it might be an issue due to me not having played any graded games so far this season. Robert and Alex have no graded games either. (also not seeing PDF) Stuart and yourself do have graded games. (can see PDF) This theory fails as Ian Brownlee has no graded games BUT can see PDF. I'll just give up for now and try clearing cache etc.. later. RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - Ianbrownlee - 20-09-2024 Hi all check again what your default app is for viewing PDF I have adobe reader. I suspect the issue may be if you are using the edge as default reader but a straw poll should determine this RE: Problems accesssing e-mag - William Hulme - 20-09-2024 I have Edge as default and just tried Firefox, Chrome, DuckDuckGo and Safari (on iPhone) and they all open the PDF for me. What about trying the ZIP file here: https://www.chessscotland.com/documents/2024/Magazine/CS_Emag_Aug2024.zip to eliminate any .PDF issues? |
