Must be disappointing to many strong boy and girl players throughout the world that felt they had a chance of being selected for both the Olympiad and the World Youth as the events now clash directly.
The pool of possible coaches will also be reduced for the Youth event.

The World Youth dates have now been removed from the Fide calender.

Change for the Olympiad and Congress dates
The 2016 Baku Olympiad has changed its dates to 1-14 September 2016.
The 2016 FIDE Congress will take its place, accordingly, during 4-14 September 2016.
At least it's on and people can start planning.

New World Youth dates now 20th September-5th October.
