Graham Morrison - ruairidhmckay - 21-05-2024 Former Scottish Champion and multiple times Olympian Graham Morrison has died (aged 65). Graham suffered a stroke on Wednesday 8th May and died in Blackpool Victoria hospital on Monday 13th May. Graham was Scottish champion in 1981 & represented Scotland at international level, playing in Olympiads in 1984, 1988, 2010 & 2012 & in many European Team Championships. He was also a long standing player in the 4NCL, formerly with Barbican and then moving to Alba. Our condolences and thoughts go to Graham’s wife, Lynne. A full obituary will appear in Scottish Chess magazine. RE: Graham Morrison - Craig Pritchett - 27-05-2024 Having only just today heard this dreadfully sad news, I can only add my own sense of deep shock and family condolence. Graham's all too early death deprives us of many years of a still flowering talent. Both he and his wife, Lynne, have both long been stalwart international representatives, actively domestic players and successful ambassadors for Scottish chess. Devastating. |
