If any of you chaps are in the vicinity, I have played at the West Wales congress over the last few years and it's been very enjoyable. Nice friendly tournament and a comfortable venue.

The venue is a function / conference centre associated with, but well detached from, a large restaurant / public house.

All players in the Open and Major Events must be registered with the Welsh Chess Union or their respective national body.

Round 1 – Friday 14th October 6.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
Round 2 – Saturday 15th October 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
Round 3 – Saturday 15th October 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Round 4 – Sunday 16th October 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

Grading prize of £20 will be awarded at under 2000
MAJOR ( Under 1850 ) Entry fee £20

MINOR ( Under 1500 ) Entry fee adults £18 and juniors £16

CONGRESS RULES
Rates of play 42 moves in 1 3/4 hours. After 42 moves both clocks to be
moved back 15 minutes and the games completed in the
time remaining.

Leave the M4 at Junction 47 and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit to Penllergaer / Pontlliw, continue to the next mini-roundabout and take the 3rd exit (A48) to Pontlliw - beware of speed cameras on this road! Go through Pontlliw past the first set of traffic lights into the open countryside and we are located on the right side of the road. The venue is no more than 3 miles from the motorway and has ample parking at the venue,

I think I will be at the Dundee Congress, also at a good venue, and a lot closer to home.
