ChessBase question - andyburnett - 07-04-2014 A technical question if I may..... I am trying to 'output' my ChessBase games into a 'text' version. I need the annotations/text to be automatically bracketed thus {blahblahblah} in order for the annotations to show up in the correct format for pgn4web. Does anyone know how to do this? The developer of pgn4web told me that ChessBase should do it automatically, but it doesn't seem to I could re-bracket every phrase or word individually, but life is too short! An example to illustrate: this is what I get from the CB output - 26...exd6?? 27.Re1! and now I got that horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach 27...Rc8 28.Rec1 Rc5 29.Rb2 Bf5 30.Rxc5?! Now I began to have hope again, but hope is a dangerous virtue in chess; it can rise higher than the position allows for. 30.Rc4 was better] This is what I need it to do automatically - 26...exd6?? 27.Re1! {and now I got that horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.} 27...Rc8 28.Rec1 Rc5 29.Rb2 Bf5 30.Rxc5?! {Now I began to have hope again, but hope is a dangerous virtue in chess; it can rise higher than the position allows for.} 30.Rc4 {was better}] Re: ChessBase question - Crawford Macnab - 07-04-2014 andyburnett Wrote:A technical question if I may..... Andy, I have ChessBase 10 and added your sinking feeling text after move 44 in one of my games. Then chose File | Save Game As... Choose PGN as format and text appears in curly brackets when viewed in notepad. Cheers, Crawford. I will try it out - it's not how I usually save games so I imagine it should work for me also Much appreciated, Andy Re: ChessBase question - Graham Kerr - 08-04-2014 Crawford Macnab Wrote:andyburnett Wrote:A technical question if I may..... Interesting... i usually avoid pgn format since it seems to lose other data... Re: ChessBase question - donaldheron - 05-06-2014 Maybe you could print it as a text file - that used to work. Re: ChessBase question - andyburnett - 05-06-2014 donaldheron Wrote:Maybe you could print it as a text file - that used to work. Crawford's solution is perfect Don. Really quick and easy for updating the website. I usually use the output option, which is fine except for the pgn text I need to produce. |
