Well done to the team, they finished above there graded position, with some good individual scares.

Same old nonsense in comments about being unlucky etc or that players will have learnt alot. Every year we consistently see our players be competitive and being 'unlucky' in loosing close fought games. The reality is our players are no different from those from other countries other than they lack of an established system for taking beginners through to established players in a structured manner. We seem to think that it is sufficient to send them to the top junior events. Sure money is a an issue but it is not everything.

As I have said previously Scottish swimming are very successful thanks to plenty of money and the versy competitive trainging regime and competitions. This is not for chess but its worth understanding and adapting to chess.
