On the old site you could view the live grading list.. Just not individual results so could at least see who was currently higher rated.
As Andy said, it's really the browser that's the issue, rather than the operating system itself. We didn't test the new website on very old browsers (such as the like that would have been the default IE browser on a Windows XP desktop). The reason for this is quite simply that we don't have the resources to guarantee that the website will work on all the old platforms (in some cases we may have had to produce the same feature two or three times using different technologies to make it compatible). And the benefit of doing this is just not there to be honest. Especially since the numbers of people using such old browsers is only getting smaller. In reality it won't be anything like 10%-15% of people, because a lot of those XP users will have newer browsers on their computers. And that 10%-15% (if indeed this is the correct figure) would only be people running Windows desktops. A significant proportion of the market share is Apple machines and approximately 50% of web browsing is now done on a tablet or smartphone anyway. So the people that cannot use the new website as a result of having an outdated web browser is probably <1%.

I've had a look at the Top100 Live list on the old website and without logging in it doesn't reveal the live grades. It does show you the correct order of players (based on their live grades), alongside their published grades, but non-members couldn't see the live grades. Is this what you mean?
In any case, the principle on the old website was that live grades would be hidden to non-members. It was like that from the beginning and the new website is essentially the same.
