He came very close to winning the Scottish Championships one time in the mid 80s, I can't remember the year.

It was 1985. I beat Tim in the final round with a miracle move to completely change the game. If Tim had won, which it looked like, I believe he would either have been 1st or 1st=. This was my only win against him.
Playing over my 5 games against him, he was a different class. I can not believe the games we had, nothing in my games I have seen before.
I believe Tim came close in Glasgow too. I think it was Elaine Rutherford who stopped him.
I remember sharing a room with him at Cappelle la Grande.
So sad to lose a young guy.
