Prague calling... After a slightly disappointing start, with a couple of quick defeats, we ended up having some good results today. Liam did very well to outplay his opponent over the late middlegame and endgame,and was joined in the winners' enclosure by Kai, who somehow managed to garner a full point from what looked a very dodgy endgame. Andrew recovered from yesterday's defeat to post a solid draw against another highly-rated opponent, while Nihad was annoyed not to win his game but relieved to have salvaged a half-point after misplaying. The story of the round, however, was the impressive 3/3 posted by our squad's female contingent, with Ali, Alice and Anna harvesting a point each, and all so far as I could see doing so reasonably comfortably.
6/13 today - not quite up there with our R3 and R4 efforts, but a considerable improvement on recent days! The focus now is on ensuring that as many people as possible sign off with a win tomorrow...
