The following extracts from the 2012 Commonwealth Open Chess Championships regulations suggest there could be multiple categories. If the Scottish is to be incorporated into the bargain, would this mean that potential entrants could choose between the Open Commonwealth and the Scottish? Given the huge public response to the Olympics and Paralympics this summer past, there could be a swell of interest/support from Britons at large to participate in the 'Commonwealth' - just for the 'glamour' of having their names appear in the historical record.
