Based on the basis of twelve teams in the Lanarkshire Chess League, there was much discussion on the league format for the next season, the favoured format being a 6-6 split as opposed to a 7-5 split. The twelve team format is based on commitments given on the night and of pre-meeting commitments given by the absent clubs. If the 6-6 split takes place, then two teams will be demoted from Division One and one team promoted from Division Two. In any event the constitution of the leagues will be the responsibility of the league controller.
Is there potentially another club entering the league to keep the number of teams at 12 rather than 11 given the withdrawal of Cumbernauld's B team?
