Just kidding about the language barrier Andy. =)

I think there are analogies here with being in a live audience watching a good magician in action.
Large numbers of sensible sane people can't see how the trick is done but no matter how large the audience we all know that the evidence we have seen does not prove the existence of magic.

The magician provides his own props, audience examination of them goes along a path controlled by the magician.

The trouble with he Ivanov case is, of course, that we could all find all the legal moves in any position include the best. No single move makes us suspend disbelief and we have to move into the shady area of statistics using as raw data numbers taken from uncontrolled experimentation
