Chess books: pdf to Kindle?
#4
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info - I have contacted some similar companies in the past but with no success. I will try these guys anyway Smile

Hello Gerald, I have already converted the book using Calibre but unfortunately the formatting was destroyed beyond all recognition.

My book is not the simplest to convert as I used jpegs for all the diagrams (as they look so much better than traditional ones!) and I edited it all within MS Publisher rather than in ChessBase/Worddoc formats. So, I don't really have a standard and easy version of it to convert.

I uploaded and converted it tonight on the Kindle site itself and again the formatting went awry - not as bad as previously but still unusable as a product.

I would be quite happy to leave it as a pdf (which can be read on almost every platform) but unfortunately too many people see that as a free book which they will happily share with the entire world! As a 'small-time writer' I can't afford to do that Sad

I'll keep trying though and many thanks for the helpful hints and comments Smile
