I have been advised of the death of George Dickson on 13 February 2017.
Born in Edinburgh, he showed great talent as a junior. He was Scottish Boys' champion in 1955 and a member of Scotland's Glorney Cup team in 1955, 1956 and 1957, scoring 8/8.
He played in several Scottish Championships, coming 2nd behind Dr Aitken in 1957, 1958 and 1961.
George later moved to England, playing with the Metropolitan CC in London and in Middlesex County events.
His brief bio is at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://chessscotland.com/history/biographies/dickson_g.htm">http://chessscotland.com/history/biogra ... kson_g.htm</a><!-- m -->
