Andy is Depute Arbiter at the Candidates Tournament in Toronto.
Which is the best internet site to watch Andy (and others) in action ?

Hi Andy,

Apparently it will be streamed in the UK on the FIDE Chess YouTube channel.

Another stream will be the Chess24 YouTube channel:

Firstly, thanks for all the kind messages of support. I really appreciate it.

You hopefully won't see much of me on camera, lets face it, I have a face for radio! The playing floor is very noisy to walk on so we are monitoring from the sides where we can. Having an absolute blast here! I'll probably write something for Mr Burnett for the magazine about what it is like on the other side Big Grin

Hope you are all enjoying the chess. Could be interesting today as we have severe thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon and evening!

Don't be so modest . You are a superstar representing Scotland abroad.
You certainly were on camera.
Here in the UK we watched you in the background as Gukesh and others were making the moves.
There was also a clip of you on the rest day.
It looked like you were on some type of millionaires' yacht watching a solar eclipse on Lake Ontario.
Hardly low profile.

Afraid it was not a millionaires yacht Big Grin They hired one of the tourist boats for it.

Just checked into the Forum after a few weeks. I had been watching the Candidates and was thinking, "That guy at the end of the playing space looks like Andy Howie." Now I'm wondering if I missed an opportunity previously to get his autograph.

Congrats, Andy, and it's a cracker of a tournament as well.

Andy was centre stage in round 8, supervising Nepomniachtchi's three-fold repetition.

Andy,

I thought you knew maths.  The position was only a two-fold repetition or a three-fold occurrence.

In round 9 Firouzja was spoken to by the chief arbiter about the noisiness of his shoes while he was playing. I need expert arbiter opinion on this.

Not sure why Firouzja was singled out.  This video suggests that Nepo was at least as noisy.
