This event is open to all members of a FIDE national federation, but CS nominates one "official" CS representative, whose registration/entry fee it will pay (subject to budgetary constraints). All entrants must find their own travel and accommodation costs

Would any interested parties please register via the Rijeka organisers' website themselves (it's straightforward) and notify me by 15 September so that David Congalton can make a bulk transfer by end September.

this is just a wild thought for tournaments such as these. Couldn't we run local events where the entry is a prize and use the event as a fund raiser? Maybe fund raisers such as this would be a first step to raise capital for travel etc or for chess Scotland?

Running a tournament is a lot of work.
Would be simpler to ask for sponsors eg Weir Foundation or a rich chessplayer
