I reckon for an IM Norm Jonathan requires a draw against IM Mads Andersen who's played board 1 throughout for Edinburgh West's round 7 opponents.
Andersen's had a good tournament as well and I think a win for him would give him a GM Norm.
So it looks like one of them is going to finish tomorrow with a Norm from the event.
Am I missing something from Jonathan's game today or is b6 just a horrendous blunder. Leaving aside BC6+, I can't see what black was thinking they could reply to Rxa8, that looked good enough to persuade them to play b6. Did they simply forget there was a white bishop on g2?

Maybe he thought that White wouldn't want to give up the light-squared bishop with Black's counterpart poised to exploit the abandoned fianchetto. There does seem to be some compensation if White just whips off the rook, though I don't think enough.
It's a hideously bad move from a 2200 though. Bc6 and Qe4 is not difficult to see.

we were sitting fairly close to the West match yesterday, and the game was over in 20 minutes. Sreeves thought it must have been a default! As has been mentioned, 7 round norms are possible in specific events like the ECC. I believe there is also a rule that your 3 norms must total at least 27 games, so one of the other norms would need to be in a longer event.
The week has just flown by. We're very pleased with our 3 victories so far. Should be a cracking last round - tough pairings for both ourselves and West, and some excitement up top with Czech side Novy Bor 1 point ahead of the field.

Enjoyable wee miniature for George there. Always nice to finish a tournament like that.

Well, it's a shame neither Jonathan (whose opponent unfortunately got that GM norm) nor David got the results to set the seal on their tournaments, but still reasons to be cheerful - a good win by West, and a cracking result from Calum.

Cheers. A few more like that would have been good. Too many "what might have been" for me this week. Still great fun and not too bad for my first ever international.
