I have bought this, got the manual, watched videos but I am still not getting the best out of it. I am looking for a chess coach to improve my skills. My grading is down badly this year and I wish to stop further decline.

Kathy Hindle passed away on 22nd February.

She was Scottish Women's Champion twice and played in 4 Olympiads.

Her funeral will be held at Cromer Crematorium at 4pm on Friday March 21st.

Edinburgh Chess Club is selling at auction a large number of surplus chess books, magazines and sundry chess ephemera that it has acquired over the years.  Something for everyone – bargains to be had - some previously owned by chess historical greats and grandmasters!  “Lots of Antiquarian & Collectable Books, Prints and Related Items” auction is being held on Thursday 6th March, 2025 lots 201 to 219: Chess Book Auction.

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the first incarnation of Castlehill Chess Club. To celebrate this milestone the club is running a one day/6 round allegro on Saturday 21st June.
 
We hope that past as well as current members will take part, reconnect with old friends and meet some new.
 
This event is not limited to Castlehill/ex-Castlehill members – all are welcome to join us in this celebration.

The club's usual premises (Dundee Uni Chaplaincy Centre) are not available but we have secured a quality alternative for the day. It is situated close to the Dundee bypass (Kingsway) with plenty of free parking.
