Giant Killer and outside Scotland games display
Posted by: Douglas Bryson - 27-02-2019, 02:26 PM - Forum: Ask the Grader - Replies (1)

There is a problem with the Giant Killer display after today's Feb 27 2019 upload. There is also an issue with the display of opponent names in events outside Scotland. A fix is being sought.

Posted by: Martin Keen - 06-02-2019, 09:49 PM - Forum: Tournaments and Events - No Replies

SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY - 2.30 p.m., Sunday, 10 March 2019
Focus Centre, Livingstone Place, Galashiels

DAVID KILGOUR, the strongest player currently living in the Borders (2165), has agreed to give a simul at the Focus Centre in Galashiels. David is a correspondence chess Grandmaster.

Refreshments will be available. There will be a small charge of £1 per board to help defray costs.

The Centre will be open from 2.30 and we plan to start by 3, with the last games finishing at around 7 p.m.

David will be white on all boards. Each player has to make a move as soon as the GM comes around, but can 'pass' twice if necessary.

Please email martinkeen@uwclub.net or phone 01750 22965 if you would like to secure a place.

European Team Championships 2019
Batumi, Georgia
23-Oct-2019
3-Nov-2019

Hi all,
Anyone interested in being considered for this team event please contact me via abburnett(at) hotmail.com

No word as yet re: funding and still no details/website of the event itself, but I will be looking to set a deadline of March 31st for interested parties, and a selection deadline of April 14th.

If this sounds a bit early, it's generally because people need to put in their holiday plans at work in advance. Any questions, problems or suggestions feel free to get on touch with me at the address above or add me on FB.

Kind regards,
Andy Burnett
(CS International Director)
