Ireland are in the early stages of putting together an event in 2019 for previous, i.e. former, Glorney & Gilbert players - an ALUMINI Event! This is still in the early stages and they are looking for ideas and interest. They have sent the following for circulation: -
===========================================================
Glorney/Faber/Gilbert/Robinson/Stokes ALUMNI event in 2019
The Glorney Gilbert International 2019 organisers are considering a gathering of Glorney, Faber/Gilbert, Robinson & Stokes ALUMNI (from 1948 - 2018) . The initial idea is a gathering on Sun 21st July 2019 at the GGI 2019 venue in Ireland for some chess and/or a lunch followed by the opening ceremony of the GGI 2019. Other IDEAS as to date, duration, format, etc., welcome. Contact the organisers: juniors@icu.ie or see here for more.
Please spread the word to ALL ALUMNI asking those interested to email or to complete the contact form here.
=============================================================
Should any former player be interested please contact them directly using their links - at this time I don't have enough information to answer any queries.

After 3 days, the festivities are over. I hope you will forgive me for waiting a day before I upload a report on the event.
It would be remiss of me to not record my thanks to all the players, coaches, heads of delegation and parents for making the event very simple and a pleasure to run.
The Glorney Committee did a power of work and made this event a complete success with Ian and Jim taking the lead. I thank each and every one of them.
The Scotland team performed to our seedings and each and every one of them gave it their all. Thanks for all your hard work.
Finally I would like to thank my Arbiting team. Alex McFarlane who was the Chief Arbiter, Fiona Petrie, Ken Stewart, Simon Gillam and David Clayton who all were instrumental in the day to day success of the event.

Hi all,
Just to inform that Scotland (SCDAD) completed a tough week yesterday down in Manchester at the 10th Deaf Chess Olympiad. I'm hoping to get a report and some pictures which can then go in the magazine.
