Back again after that glorious summer we have just had, get a quick 5 games in before the club gets back, always a good idea.
2 sections, and a blitz on Saturday night, 44 places left at the moment, go here, for details and entry.
Usual sites for results and pairings are here and here.
Late fees will start applying after today, so get in before then to save yourself the cost of your coffee with you lunch.
No plans for live boards this time, I believe, I am prepared to be corrected.
See you there, it'll be fun, promise.

Hi all,
Hope the beginning of August is treating you well.
Lanarkshire has form with regard to offering a competition in August for those who are missing a bit of weekly chess whilst waiting for their respective own club nights and leagues to start again. A fair few have entered but there is plenty of space for some last minute entries before Round 1 starts on Monday.
Feel free to have a look at the details on the Chess Scotland calendar. I have added a link to the chess-results page so you can see who has entered. I will do the draw on the Sunday evening at 9pm for each round (edit note: changed from 10pm) so there is plenty of notice for you if you are given a bye. Currently with a few people requesting a Round 1 bye anyway, we are expecting even numbers for Round 1 but this could of course change with late entries.
Lastly, please note that that Round 5 will now be on the 9th of September, not the 2nd.

Anyone else notice that Dashboard not working. When I click on it it comes up Invalid Player Number.
I can still access my details through grading and search but dashboard is the quickest way to do this.
Also any idea when the final grades for 2024/25 will be active.

Hi there,
Looking forward to seeing you all in Dunfermline for the start of this year's Scottish Championships on Monday. I have posted information on the 2 competitions commencing on that day (the International Open and the Weekday U1800 Congress) at the top of the Scottish Championships article on the Chess Scotland website frontpage:
https://www.chessscotland.com/news/scott...open-2024/
If you have any queries, please feel free to get in touch with Thor Saemundsson, Tournament Director through the Entry Form QR code, or alternatively his email is also available in the Chess Scotland website Contacts.

A 7 round event this time so make sure you are aware before you enter, the surprise on Friday night or Saturday morning may not be good.
We have another 4 places available as of 10:30 a.m. on the 23nd.
These are on a first come basis, we will not be telling anyone before the places open.
Are you sure you entered the right event? Check at the pairings sites and make sure you are in the one you want, not necessarily the one you entered.
I believe we will utilise 24 live boards during the event, so lots to look at if you are not playing. Probably broadcast on LiChess, link to follow sometime.
pairings and results are here , for Chess Results and here for Vega Results.
