The Bowes-Lyon Trophy, an individual tournament for players rated under 1600, will take place at the Edinburgh Chess Club from 30th April - 1st May.
Information can be found in the Chess Scotland calendar.
There is a restriction on the number of players who can play, but there are still plenty of spaces available.

Unfortunately I won't be around for the Largs congress this year, it looks like a great event again. I did see the following in the terms and conditions though:
ANY PLAYER ACCUSED OF CHEATING WILL BE EXPELLED FROM THE EVENT IF THEY DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE ARBITER’S INVESTIGATION.
However there is no mention of any penalty for wrongly accusing someone of cheating. Cheating doesn't seem to be a problem in Scotland thankfully but this rule seems quite dangerous.

Scotland are represented in the U2300 section by Ian Robertson, Raj Bhopal and a favourite Ayrshire sparring partner of mine Stephen Robinson.

Edinburgh Congress 2016 - Premier |

I have noticed this happening in a number of competitions and I was wondering if one of the Arbiters can explain the reason behind this.
In the final round of the Premier there are 4 players who have 3 1/2 points. They are:
Player 1 with a coloring of WBWB
Player 2 with a coloring of BWBW
Player 4 with a coloring of BWWB
Player 7 with a coloring of Bye BBW
Players 1 and 2 have already played each other.
The draw that was made was:
1 (White) vs 7 (Black)
4 (White) vs 2 (Black)
This means that player 7 ended up with 3 black, 1 white and 1 Bye and this did not give them an equalise of colours.
Can someone explain this?
