Mikey Grove is tearing it up in Prague. Undefeated and a half point off the lead, starting rank 84, currently sitting 14th with some nice results in the first six rounds. Good chance of being on one of the 9 live boards tomorrow. Games start at 3pm UK time.

Hi all,
Apologies for the delay with the December issue.
It was actually back from the printers before Christmas, but unfortunately some files (and postage supplies also) didn't appear as expected. I hope for the posting to happen this week sometime.
Regards,
Andy Burnett

Scotland will be represented by 2 teams of 4 players in the 65+ section, and by one team (a 5-man squad) in the 50+ event. The list below details the players, with board order to be decided later.
There is still time for other players interested in playing in the 50+ section to contact me, in which case we may field a second team in that section also.
65+
Gerald Bonner
Phil Giulian
Peter Jamieson
Ian Marks
Douglas McKerracher
Alan Scrimgeour
Jim Webster
Alastair White
50+
Raj Bhopal
Alastair Dawson
David Findlay
Alan Minnican

Me with my presents. (I was dragged out bed a jersey
pulled over my pyjamas and a Santa hat placed on my head,)
A book review of 'The History of Chess in 50 moves.'
Actually very few moves. It's 50 chapters.
***STOP***
What do you think are the 3 most famous moves in Chess History?
I give my three. Think of yours before you visit the blog.
***OK Continue Reading***
A DVD called the Dark Horse which thanks to those feckless fools
on the English Forum I ended getting but it was all about a horse
and not the chess DVD of the same name.
Then a mini quiz featuring 3 questions that cropped up
on University Challenge. All three were answered incorrectly.
