Have been watching the Live feed for the past hour and just realised it is our own Alan Tate who's back is to the camera
Quite scary that our top players are facing opposition 400 points higher!

I meant that some of our best players have spent years trying to improve...and then when we walk onto the world stage we are light years behind :/
I just find it crazy that, for example, Carlsen is 700 points higher-rated than me, and I am only 400 points higher-rated than my first adult rating from about 30 years ago - despite working on the game reasonably hard! :-o

Don't be so hard on yourself, Andy. Carlsen is only 640 points higher than you....

A good win for Keti yesterday against her World Championship nemesis GM Pia Cramling from Sweden.
Alan Tate also won - against Tim Harding - to get back on track hopefully.
Steve Mannion lost to another very strong player, GM Valentina Gunina, and will hope to break free from the yo-yo effect at some point.
