Unfortunately if you go to the ECF grading page you get these formulae which gives a different answer to the CS Site (*10 + 180)
ECF x 8 + 650 = FIDE
(FIDE – 650) / 8 = ECF
ECF x 8 + 600 = National Elo
(National Elo – 600) / 8 = ECF
So 178 ECF on the CS site converts to 1958
and on the ECF site the same grade converts to 2024 in CS units or if you prefer 2074 FIDE.
Don't assume that Tournament directors in England will take their formula from the CS site. If playing south of the border you may end up in a higher section than you predicted.
