FIDE All Play All Gradings
#12
Mike Scott Wrote:It just struck me as odd that in these FIDE events FIDE ungraded players are assigned grades based I assume on their performance that weekend in contrast to the graded players grade. These grade estimates are then also used by CS for grading purposes. If it had been a SWISS the results would have been ignored.

Only just spotted this thread.

I had always assumed that the only results CS imported from FIDE rated events were those games against players who had a current published FIDE grade at the time of the event. I thought this applied regardless of the format of the event. However that may not be the case.

Can you Mike give an example of a player getting credit in the CS domestic system for a game against a player who was FIDE unrated at the time of the event. This is applying to events listed as FIDE imports eg http://chessscotland.com/event2012/events2012.htm - then pick "Outside Scotland events" and then the headers listed as FIDE Imports.

I manually add games if is two Scots playing each other and one or other is non FIDE rated - so that would be an example. However I assume Mike is meaning something other than these games.
