European club cup Bilbao
#21
Well, not such good results today but our teams had really strong opponents after doing so well yesterday.
It's tough there, no doubt about it and the standard is truly frightening.

Keep focused but enjoy it, there are plenty of nice points available and you are all good enough to get them.

Is anyone else scunnered by the quality of coverage at this very important event?

In case anyone outside of Scotland is reading this....

Scots[edit]

Verb[edit]

tae scunner (third-person singular simple present scunners, present participle scunnerin, simple past scunnert, past participle scunnert)
1.to be very tired, to be knackered

Or....

Och, He's a right scunner

Translated..This gentleman will not have an opportunity of escorting me home this evening.

Yes, coverage disappointing. Can't seem to get into any results from today.

Well for what it's worth, Bon Accord beat Burtrini 3.5-2.5 (although it should have been more), and I think Edinburgh lost (they were 3-0 down when I left).

Phenomenal event, but easy for your confidence to take a battering. The standard is pretty relentless.

Somebody in Northern Spain maybe has a warped sense of humour Sad You do not go all that way to play other Scottish Club - this is where automated computer derived pairings need varying with a bit of common sense,

I'm afraid it was quite likely to happen sooner or later. The seeding range 45-51 consists of 2 Scottish, 2 Welsh, 2 Irish and 1 English team. There has already been several cross-pairings from within the group and you can expect to see more in the last couple of rounds.

As soon as you start to 'manipulate' pairings you will potentially create anomalies and leave yourself open to justified protests from teams may have been given a harder pairing than they would otherwise have had. So I think it's probably best to go with the computer even if it results in an unwelcome pairing like this.
