We've got a coaching day organised for 21st May.

http://www.chessscotland.com/news/?p=5775

Stewart Haslinger is an English Grandmaster with a current FIDE rating 2526. His Wikipedia profile is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewart_H ... #Biography

Stewart will provide a coaching day, with a view to a follow up in the future if the first one is successful. The event will take place at the Bridie Library in Glasgow University Union on Saturday 21st May 2016. http://www.guu.co.uk/#!bridie-library/c1un4

The venue is located here and is easily reached by bus and underground. There is also parking available on nearby Kelvin Way.

The event will run from 10:30 am until 4 pm. There will be a stop for lunch (not included in the price) . Please arrive prompt (for 10:15) as we have to vacate the venue at 4pm and can’t afford any delay. If you wish to follow the coaching session with a chess set then we will cater for you to bring your own set and board.

The charge for the event is 30 pounds.

The session will be split into three sections

- Endgame theory
- Making critical decisions
- Strategy

If we have the time we will also have a question and answer section. To make the coaching worthwhile numbers will be restricted so if planning to attend please let me know as soon as possible. We plan to take payment up front. We’ll announce arrangements for this when you sign up.

If we can make this a success then Stewart will provide future sessions.

If interested please contact either Ian Brownlee (ian.brownlee@systemsit.co.uk)

just to say thank you to the Mulholland brothers (all three of them) for a great day. Stewart gave a great well thought out training day which accomodated players of all levels. It was a major success which must be repeated for the future. Stewart's talk on rooks endings was first class and it was really an eye opener when Stewart gave us a glimpse on his thought processes . I really cant wait to get my materials on the training day and am looking for to the next one. It may be worthwhile to give a report to Scottish Chess magazine on everything that happened

Thanks Ian. Glad it all worked out. Will have a look at another session later in the year perhaps.
