If ever there was an incentive to stop Greenwood this is it. I am going to have nightmares at the very thought of this happening!

Is a 'good' team the same as a 'winning' team?
winning teams need; good leadership and organisation for the 'talent'; a squad of -for a 6 board match- 8 to choose from, and a contact book for 'guests' if required to beef up/fill a board. In my experience having someone who can occupy a board is far preferable to a default -they mount up! Getting 6 (or 8) people out each time, is half the battle! Transport (at least 2 cars, do not let anyone get the bus or train-yes there is a story); and to have match sharpness or practice pre-season points dropped early on are difficult to claw back in a small lge.
a good team is; one where I'm doing none of the organising or driving and have a good team dynamic -pub.

A team that gets along topgether is a team who wins. The thought of Greenwood in mankinis is far to horrible to even think about!!

Robin partially correct in that we have competition for places but not 7 into 6. We have 11 players available to play for Greenwood and captain Elliot Frew will have a job keeping them happy. what makes our team a good team is despite the fact there are (masssive) egos in the team they are put to one side and sacrificed for team ethos. The communal vilification of the worst performer on the night ensures that everyone is trying extremely hard not to lose. A great example of this is when a well respected player (and arbiter) was observed muttering worriedly during one match "gosh, i'm the only one not winning".
There is, of course, the seige mentality that some players nurture but remember it is not paranoia if yu know they are out to get ya (
). Last and by no means least is the socialising after the games. This bonding is enjoyed by all and cements the team ethic.

At Paisley, what seems to work is that we get along reasonably well together. That, and the fact that if anyone has an ego, it is quickly removed with endless banter. It usually works. Most Paisley members have a similar (warped??) sense of humour.

i agree with Colin, the banter stops competing egos. an example being the player that immodestly stated he had 9.5 out of 10 for the season; he was quickly reminded that "there is room for improvement!"
