With the exciting news that Lithuanian Grand Master Sarunas Sulskis will be playing in the Open section and will be giving a talk and simultaneous display on the Saturday night, we have taken the opportunity to publish a revised entry brochure and to update the congresss website.
The revised brochure is available to download on the CS Calendar page, the congress tournament info page or (hopefully) by clicking on the link below.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk/2012%20Prestwick%20Airport%20Chess%20Congress%20Entry%20Brochure%20v250212.doc">http://www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk/ ... 250212.doc</a><!-- m -->
The lastest brochures will also be available at the Glenrothes and Edinburgh congresses, as well as the Ayrshire Individual Championship and any other events I can manage to get to.
It would be very helpful in spreading the word if club members throughout the country could perhaps print a form or two and take them along to their club nights.
The congress website is <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk">www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk</a><!-- w -->

International Master Mark Orr has entered the Open section of the congress.
A full list of entries so far can be found at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk/Entrants.html">http://www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk/Entrants.html</a><!-- m --> . This will be updated as entries come in.
For those interested in taking on GM Sulskis on the Saturday night, look out this weekend for news on how to increase your chances of securing a board.
There will also be news this weekend about places in the 1st Scottish Blitz Championship, taking place in Edinburgh in June, for juniors entering the Prestwick congress.

Robin Moore has kindly donted three of the ten juniors entries to the Scottish blitz championship as junior chess prizes for the Prestwick Congress. Further details on how the winners will be decided will be available after I have consulted Robin on how he would like the winners decided.

A couple of entrants have reported that they have sent their entries via e-mail and they have "bounced back" undelivered. I don't know what the issue is as my test e-mails worked okay. The e-mail address is <!-- e --><a href="mailto:davidcongalton@ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk">davidcongalton@ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk</a><!-- e --> . Anyone having problems with that e-mail can also use the alternative <!-- e --><a href="mailto:david.congalton114@btinternet.com">david.congalton114@btinternet.com</a><!-- e --> .
Apologies to anyone having problems but, as I said, I don't know why the problem is happening.

Oh to be able to live in a house with a spare room. Luxury! Right then, I used to get up every morning, clean lake before breakfast...errm where was I? It's ok, I think I can just about manage to get by in my tiny wee dingy one bedroomed flat but if any kind chess players out there have space on the floor for my sleeping bag and I please be in touch. I don't eat much and am happy to have a candle for lighting and heating (two at christmas) in the corner of the room. Seriously, I hope loads of you are coming to sunny Prestwick by the sea next month to play the game we love in a truly stunning seaside location with a wonderful peaceful but very friendly night life with great restaurants,
Robin.

Alan Tate is the third titled player to enter the Open section. We now have a GM, an IM and an FM, as well as the current Ayrshire Champion and the current British girls under 16 champion, taking part.
There's still plenty of room for more titled players and more champions, as well as those who dream of becoming GM's and champions. Everybody is welcome to take part. Less than four weeks to go now before the first pawn is pushed.
