Just before the thread goes cold, I wonder if some of the suggestions on this thread will be actively looked at by whoever is responsible within CS, and does anyone know who's remit it would fall under? Maybe it would need a development officer or some sort of working party to try and take this forward, but I really hope all this debate can come to something, rather than just being forgotten about in a month's time or so.

Oh ye of little faith......

It's relatively straightforward to create a training/development position in under the new Constitution review ( in fact it might well be already under consideration ) - the problem will be finding someone to take on the position and do the work needed to set a workable program.

That sounds promising at least. Admittedly, I do tend to share Joe's cynicism. However, we can but try, so forget your ice buckets, CS I challenge you to take on board these comments and act on them.

Of course finding someone to take it on is tough, but certainly I think you would find lots of volunteers for some sort of group to work on it. I guess it is a shame that this discussion comes too late for the AGM, but hopefully that doesn't mean it can't get discussed at a more official level.

Andy B - I am right about Alan's study requirements. I was his trainer in Tromso. He needs to fulfil his potential.

Free training tip for Adam : Send an email this week to all other normseekers e.g. Andy B, Alan, Andrew G, Clement, Graham M etc saying that you are forming an email group to share ideas. You could start by agreeing the group name and who should be members. This will invigorate yourselves. Members will then update the group with progress.
