Following on from the South Ayrshire event I have made a few changes to the Ayr Congress Entry Form to incorporate some of the things that I think worked well.
The website has been updated with the revised entry form and information for the congress which takes place during the late May Bank Holiday.

Planning to have all of the following at the Ayr Congress, which is just over one month away -
Incremental time controls.
More live boards.

Big Screen displays of games.
Commentary and coaching with Andrew Green and Ali Roy.
The Scottish Boys Championship will also be running alongside the congress.

Recommended Hamish. I thought it was great last year.
- Nice hotel venue in centre of Ayr.
- Chinese Noodle Bar right outside the venue.
- Lots of cheap B&B accomodation in Ayr, £15 a night for me last year.
- Congress itself is competitive and well organised.
What more could a chess player need from a tournament!
Looking forward to it again next month.

It's not too late just yet to join the bank holiday fun on the Ayrshire coast and there are still a few good priced B&B's available within a short walking distance of the venue, as well as rooms at the Mercure itself.
Try www.trivago.uk laterooms.com or booking.com. Ivydean B&B is £30 per night single room with breakfast on one of these sites.
Anyone taking a Friday night bye and arriving on the Saturday morning can grab a room at the Kilkerran Guest House for £25 for the Saturday night, also including breakfast.
Prestwick and Troon also have a wide variety of accommodation and are only a very short train ride from Ayr centre.
